Smokers are welcome in these holiday properties in Scotland

 

Since 2006 in Scotland smoking has been banned in public areas. Smoking is banned even in a private club run by smokers for smokers! People who smoke in a non-smoking area can be fined £50, rising to £200.  Businesses that allow it will be fined £200 rising to £2500.

Smoking is banned in hotels, boarding houses, guest houses, bed and breakfasts, inns and hostels in Scotland which have two or more bedrooms.but proprietors can designate bedrooms for smoking if they wish.

But never fear, smokers, you can enjoy cigarettes on your Scottish holiday.

In Scotland, Self catering properties in general are not caught by the new law,  unless the owners choose to make their properties smoke free.

In practice, most self catering proprietors in Scotland prohibit smoking in their properties and they can therefore enforce this if they wish. Some allow smoking outside, however.

The following properties on this page do allow smoking inside. Self catering in properties such as these is the only way in which smokers can feel totally at home while they are on holiday in Scotland.
